EDUCATION: E A YOUNG ACADEMY IS A K-12, NOT-FOR-PROFIT PRIVATE ACADEMY DEDICATED TO THE GIFTED, TALENTED AND HIGH ABILITY SCHOLAR. IT CURRENTLY SERVES 74 SCHOLARS, DRAWING FROM AN APPROXIMATELY 15 MILE RADIUS. THE STUDENT POPULATION IS A DIVERSE COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS INCLUDING AFRICAN AMERICAN, ASIAN, HISPANIC, CAUCASIAN AND MULTI-RACIAL FAMILIES. THE PRIMARY MECHANISM USED TO MEASURE SCHOLAR GROWTH IS THROUGH THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE MEASURES OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS (MAP) TESTING. THIS IS A COMPUTERIZED, ADAPTIVE TEST THAT ADJUSTS THE DIFFICULTY OF THE QUESTIONS TO THE LEVEL OF THE SCHOLAR.
