THERE IS A HERITAGE PUBLICATION "ZARJA" (THE DAWN)AND HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY PUBLISHED SINCE 1929. THE MAGAZINE CONTAINS: PRESIDENT'S REPORT ON UPCOMING EVENTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS, BRANCHES REPORT ON EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES, LIST OF NEW MEMBERS, LIST OF DONATIONS NAME AND AMOUNT, DONATIONS OF ARTIFACTS RECEIVED BY THE MUSEUM, VARIOUS ARTICLES SUBMITTED BY MEMBERS FOR TRIBUTES TO LONG TIME MEMBERS, U.S. ATHLETES OF SLOVENIAN DESCENT, TRADITIONAL FOOD RECIPES AND CULTURAL INFORMATION. ZARJA PUBLICATIONS HAVE BEEN DIGITIZED FROM 1929 TO DATE. DIGITAL FILES ARE AVAILABLE ON LINE & SUBMITTED TO NATIONAL UNIVERSITY LIBRARY IN LJUBLJANA SLOVENIA FOR THEIR RESEARCHERS AND PERMANENT RECORDS. THERE ARE TWO PART TIME EMPLOYEES, EDITOR & DESIGNER. THERE WERE 7,353 MAGAZINES PRINTED ON GLOSS PAPER & MAILED TO MEMBERS IN 2021.
HERITAGE EDUCATIONAL MUSEUM CONTAINS A COLLECTION OF IMMIGRANT'S ARTIFACTS SUCH AS PICTURES, BOOKS, DIARIES, CLOTHING, JEWELRY, TRAVEL TRUNKS, WORK TOOLS AND FURNITURE. THERE IS A SMALL GIFT SHOP AND MUSEUM IS OPENED BY APPOINTMENT. THE MUSEUM IS LOCATED IN THE HOME OFFICE BUILDING PURCHASED IN 1978 AND IS LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN JOLIET, IL ON FAMOUS ROUTE 66. A WORLD FAMOUS AMERICAN SLOVENIAN ARTIST BODGAN GROM (1918 TO 2013) DONATED HIS PERSONAL LIBRARY OF 126 BOOKS. MUSEUM LIBRARY HOLDINGS DIGITIZED 865 BOOKS USING THE DEWEY NUMBERING SYSTEM. HARTFORD INSURANCE PROVIDES COVERAGE OF $117,000 FOR MUSEUM ARTIFACTS, OFFICE CONTENTS AND $39,000 FINE ARTS COVERAGE FOR ROADSIDE CHAPEL PORTRAIT AND BOOKS.
