THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO HARNESS THE POWER OF BUSINESS TO CREATE CHOICES FOR SURVIVORS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING.

RETHREADED PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT TO WOMEN IN THE JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA AREA WHO ARE COMING OUT OF LIVES OF ADDICTION, VIOLENCE, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, AND PROSTITUTION. MANY OF THESE WOMEN LEAVE PRISON WITH FELONY RECORDS WHICH CREATE SIGNIFICANT CHALLENGES TO EMPLOYMENT. RETHREADED IS A SAFE PLACE WHERE WOMEN ARE PAID A LIVING WAGE AND EMPLOYED IN FIVE DIFFERENT AREAS AT RETHREADED INCLUDING MARKETING, ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE, PRODUCTION, INVENTORY, AND SALES. LOCALLY, THE ORGANIZATION HAS DIRECTLY HELPED MANY WOMEN IN THE JACKSONVILLE AREA THROUGH EMPLOYMENT AT RETHREADED. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES AN INITIAL 3-MONTH PAID JOB TRAINING PROGRAM WHERE AFTER COMPLETION THE WOMEN CONTINUE EMPLOYMENT AT RETHREADED AND SPECIALIZE IN ONE OF THE FIVE AREAS LISTED ABOVE. DURING THE TRAINING PERIOD, RETHREADED WORKS WITH THE EMPLOYEE TO IDENTIFY AN AREA IN THE ORGANIZATION WHERE SHE WILL THRIVE. THE GOAL IS TO HELP EMPLOYEES DEVELOP VALUABLE JOB SKILLS AND A RENEWED SENSE OF CONFIDENCE SO THEY CAN BECOME LEADERS AND ADVOCATES IN THE ORGANIZATION AND THE COMMUNITY.
