AT THE BRUNNER LITERACY CENTER, WE EMPOWER ADULTS TO LEAD BETTER LIVES THROUGH LITERACY. SINCE 2011, WE HAVE PROVIDED ADULTS WITH FREE, ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING. BETWEEN JANUARY 1, 2021 AND DECEMBER 31, 2021, WE HAVE SERVED OVER 250 INDIVIDUALS IN OUR GED, ADULT BASIC EDUCATION, CONTINUING EDUCATION, AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING PROGRAMS THROUGH OVER 2,300 HOURS OF TUTORING. IN 2021, 7 STUDENTS EARNED THEIR GED, 5 STUDENTS GOT JOBS OR BETTER JOBS, 4 BECAME U.S. CITIZENS, AND 118 MET THEIR LEARNING GOALS. AS THESE STUDENTS IMPROVED THEIR READING, WRITING, MATH AND LANGUAGE SKILLS, THEY IMPROVED THEIR CONFIDENCE, SELF-ESTEEM, EMPLOYABILITY AND HOPE FOR A BETTER FUTURE.
