THE MISSION OF FOR THE NATIONS REFUGEE OUTREACH IS TO PROVIDE GENERAL EDUCATION AND ACCULTURATION SERVICES THAT HELP MEET THE PRACTICAL NEEDS OF REFUGEES AND TO SHARE WITH THEM THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

COVID RESPONSE AND CO-OP: FOR THE NATIONS (FTN) FACILITATED AN IN-PERSON, EMERGENCY COVID RESPONSE, LEARNING CO-OP FROM JANUARY-DECEMBER 2021 IN ORDER TO SERVE 70 ELEMENTARY AGED REFUGEE CHILDREN WHO DIDN'T HAVE ACCESS TO ONLINE LEARNING THROUGH THEIR SCHOOL DISTRICTS. THESE CHILDREN WERE PROVIDED WITH DAILY ENGLISH, READING, MATH, SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES, AND CITIZENSHIP CLASSES, AS WELL AS BIBLE EDUCATION, ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, AND MEALS. OF THE 70 CHILDREN SERVED, 65 WERE ABLE TO CATCH UP TO GRADE LEVEL EXPECTATIONS DESPITE BEING SIGNIFICANTLY BEHIND (MORE THAN 2 GRADE LEVELS) AT THE BEGINNING OF 2021. FTN ALSO RAISED AND DISTRIBUTED $36,000 TO FAMILIES IN NEED DURING THE CONTINUING COVID CRISIS. FAMILIES AFFECTED BY COVID APPLIED AND RECEIVED $500 EACH TO HELP WITH BASIC NEEDS SUCH AS FOOD, RENT, AND UTILITIES. FTN ALSO DISTRIBUTED THOUSANDS OF DIAPERS, BOXES OF FRESH FOOD, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, BOOKS, CLOTHES, AND NON-PERISHABLE ITEMS IN ORDER TO HELP FAMILIES IN NEED.
SUMMER READING PROGRAM: FOR THE NATIONS' SUMMER READING PROGRAM SERVED ABOUT 250 ELEMENTARY CHILDREN IN SMALL GROUPS OF LESS THAN 20 STUDENTS PER GROUP FROM MAY-AUGUST 2021. THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM INCLUDES ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING, READING, MATH, ART, CHRISTIAN BIBLE TEACHING, AND OTHER ELECTIVES, AS WELL AS DAILY BREAKFAST AND LUNCH.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES: FOR THE NATIONS ALSO RUNS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR ELEMENTARY AGED REFUGEES, PROVIDES FAMILY SERVICES, AND OFFERS OTHER EDUCATION INCLUDING CITIZENSHIP AND LIFE SKILLS SEMINARS, AND OTHER OUTREACHES AND EVENTS.
