DURING THE COURSE OF 2018, AND TEAM OF 6 VETERANS FROM THE UK AND US WALKED FROM THE WEST TO EAST COAST OF THE US AS PART OF WALKING WITH THE WOUNDED'S WALK OF AMERICA, ITS LATEST ENDEAVOUR TO DEMONSTRATE THE RESILIENCE OF OUR WOUNDED AND TO ENSURE THE PUBLIC REMAINS AWARE OF THE CONTINUED SUPPORT NEEDED BY THESE MEN AND WOMEN DESPITE THE RECENT WARS BEGINNING TO DRIFT INTO THE PAST. THE WALK WAS A GREAT SUCCESS, ENGAGING DIRECTLY WITH 1,000'S OF INDIVIDUALS AND ATTENDING OVER 45 EVENTS ON THE ROUTE. AS WELL AS THIS ENGAGEMENT, WHICH GREATLY ASSISTED WITH THE FUNDRAISING, WWTW HAS ALSO BEEN ABLE TO ESTABLISH A NEW EMPLOYMENT PATHWAY INTO THE ENERGY INDUSTRY DIRECTLY AS A RESULT OF THE WALK, WORKING NOW IN PARTNERSHIP WITH US VETERAN CHARITY NEXTOP WHICH IS HOUSTON BASED. THIS JOINT VENTURE, STEP INTO ENERGY, AIMS TO PLACE OVER 300 VETERANS INTO THE ENERGY INDUSTRY IN BOTH THE UK AND US EACH YEAR. THE PROGRAMME IS DIRECTLY SUPPORTED BY THE NFL AND THE HOUSTON TEXANS.
