OUR THREE MAIN PROGRAM AREAS ARE MEDICAL, EDUCATIONAL/COUNSELING, AND MATERIAL SUPPORT. OUR MEDICAL SERVICES START WITH PREGNANCY TESTS. IF THE TEST IS POSITIVE, THE CLIENT WILL RECEIVE AN ULTRASOUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONFIRMING AND DATING THE PREGNANCY. WE THEN REFER THE CLIENT TO SEE A DOCTOR AND SEEK OTHER MEDICAL RESOURCES. THIS YEAR WE STARTED TESTING FOR SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS (STI). THE TESTS ARE OFFERED TO MEN AND WOMEN (PREGNANT OR NOT). WE ALSO HAVE A MOBILE UNIT THAT GOES TO SURROUNDING TOWNS TO PROVIDE PREGNANCY TESTS, ULTRASOUNDS, AND STI TESTING FOR CLIENTS THAT DON'T HAVE TRANSPORTATION TO COME TO THE CENTER IN JEFFERSON CITY. THE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES ARE GROUP CLASSES, ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS, AND ONLINE CLASSES. CLASSES ARE ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS INCLUDING PRENATAL CARE, NUTRITION AND WELLNESS, AND PARENTING AT VARIOUS STAGES. THE CENTER ALSO HAS A PROGRAM CALLED SEXUAL RISK AVOIDANCE. THIS IS TAUGHT IN MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSROOMS TO GUIDE STUDENTS TO MAKE POSITIVE CHOICES FOR SEXUAL HEALTH. COUNSELING SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS FREE OF CHARGE. MATERIAL SUPPORT INCLUDES REFERRALS TO OTHER AGENCIES, SHOPPING IN THE BABY BOUTIQUE, AND EARNING REWARDS FOR COMPLETING CLASSES AND OTHER POSITIVE BEHAVIORS.
