Part 3 - Line 4a
F2F'S HOUR 2 EMPOWER, H2E, IS A 90-120 MINUTE INTERACTIVE SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROGRAM FOR COLLEGE-AGE STUDENTS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS. THE FIRST HALF OF THE H2E INCLUDES AN EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATION ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS INCLUDING: SEXUAL VIOLENCE 101, CONSENT, BYSTANDER INTERVENTION, INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE, SUPPORTING SURVIVORS, DRUG-FACILITATED SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND TRAUMA-INFORMED SUPPORT. THE EDUCATION SEGMENT IS FOLLOWED BY AN IN-SERVICE LEARNING OPPORTUNITY WHERE PARTICIPANTS PACK F2F AFTERCARE KITS & WRITE A PERSONAL NOTE OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR A SURVIVOR. F2F KIT-PACKING IMPACTS STUDENTS ON A DEEPER LEVEL THAT MAKES ADVOCATING THE PREVENTION OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE AN IMPERATIVE REALITY. DURING JULY 1, 2022 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2023, F2F IMPACTED OVER 2,500 STUDENTS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH 23 SV PREVENTION PROGRAMS IN 5 STATES.
THE F2F KIT PROGRAM PROVIDES COMPASSIONATE CARE KITS TO SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE THAT INCLUDES SEXUAL ASSAULT, IPV (INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE), DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, CHILD ABUSE, AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING. AFTER THE FORENSIC EXAM WHEN A VICTIM'S CLOTHING IS TAKEN AS EVIDENCE, F2F AFTERCARE KITS PROVIDE CLEAN CLOTHING AND TOILETRIES TO MEET IMMEDIATE NEEDS ALONG WITH RESOURCES, TRADEMARKED COUNSELING TOOLS, AND A PERSONALIZED NOTE OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR SURVIVORS OF ANY GENDER & AGE. F2F ICARE KITS SUPPORT SURVIVORS AFTER THE REPORTING WINDOW HAS CLOSED, AT ANY POINT IN THEIR HEALING JOURNEYS. THEY CONTAIN THERAPY TOOLS & RESOURCES, MINUS THE CLOTHING. F2F KITS IMPACT SURVIVORS THROUGH FORENSIC UNITS, CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS, WOMEN'S RESOURCE CENTERS & OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. FEAR 2 FREEDOM'S SHADOW EVENT IS AN IMMERSIVE, EMOTIONAL 90-MINUTE PRESENTATION CENTERED AROUND SURVIVOR STORIES AND HELD AT COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES. THE ANONYMOUS SURVIVORS ARE SILHOUETTED BEHIND A CURTAIN OR SCREEN AS THEY SHARE THEIR STORIES WITH AUDIENCE MEMBERS.THE FIRST-HAND ACCOUNTS ARE INCREDIBLY POWERFUL, NOT JUST FOR THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSAULT ITSELF, BUT ALSO FOR DETAILING LONG-TERM EFFECTS. ATTENDEES DISCOVER THE IMPACT OF THE ASSAULT ON THE SURVIVOR'S LIFE AS WELL AS ITS IMPACT ON THEIR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND SOCIAL CIRCLE.THE SHADOW EVENT AGENDA ALSO ALLOWS ATTENDEES TO INTERACT WITH THESE SURVIVORS BY WRITING NOTES OF ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT THAT WILL BE GIVEN TO THE SHADOW PRESENTERS. STUDENTS WHO ATTEND THE SHADOW EVENT LEAVE WITH A GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF THE PERSONAL IMPACT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE, INCREASED EMPATHY FOR SURVIVORS, AND AN INCREASED AWARENESS OF WHAT THEY CAN DO TO IMPROVE SAFETY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.THIS PROGRAM WAS ORIGINALLY A PART OF THE SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAMMING AND RESOURCES TOOLKIT BUT IS NOW BEING MARKETED AS A SEPARATE PROGRAM.
