EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION-WLCDC PROVIDES FULL-DAY, CHILD-CENTERED AND DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION FOR NEARLY 100 CHILDREN FROM SIX WEEKS TO SIX YEARS OF AGE. WILD LILAC OPERATES SIX CLASSROOMS: YOUNGER INFANT(AGES SIX WEEKS TO TWELVE MONTHS); OLDER INFANT (AGES 12 MONTHS TO 24 MONTHS), TWO TODDLER CLASSROOMS (AGES 24-36 MONTHS); AND TWO PRESCHOOL CLASSROOMS (AGES 3-6). WLCDC WORKS CLOSELY WITH MULTNOMAH EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM TO ENSURE IT IS MEETING THE NEEDS OF ALL CHILDREN WITH IDENTIFIED SPECIAL NEEDS. WILD LILAC ALSO WORKS WITH PRIVATE SPECIALISTS AT FAMILIES REQUEST. EDUCATION AT WILD LILAC IS CHARACTERIZED BY SMALL CLASS SIZES, LOW STUDENT-TEACHER RATIOS, QUALIFIED AND EDUCATED TEACHERS, A LANGUAGE-RICH ENVIRONMENT TO PROMOTE EARLY LITERACY DEVELOPMENT, AND RESPECTFUL, ENGAGING INTERACTIONS BETWEEN TEACHERS AND CHILDREN.
