THE ORGANIZATION SEEKS TO EDUCATE CHILDREN USING WALDORF EDUCATION BASED ON A HUMANISTIC APPROACH TO PEDAGOGY BASED UPON THE EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY OF THE AUSTRIAN PHILOSOPHER RUDOLF STEINER, THE FOUNDER OF ANTHROPOSOPHY. THIS IS DONE IN CONJUNCTION WITH MINDFUL PARENTING.

WINDSONG SCHOOL SERVED A DIVERSE STUDENT BODY OF 157 STUDENTS IN THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR. OUR EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS EXPANDED INTO MIDDLE SCHOOL, BRINGING OUR PROGRAM OFFERINGS FROM INFANCY THROUGH MIDDLE SCHOOL. OUR TUITION AFFORDABILITY PROGRAM ALLOWED 51 LOW-INCOME STUDENTS TO ENROLL IN OUR SCHOOL.OUR FACULTY AND STAFF ROSTER INCLUDED 13 FULL AND PART-TIME LEAD TEACHERS AND 7 SUPPORT STAFF. OUR TUITION AFFORDABILITY PROGRAM ENABLED 29 LOW INCOME STUDENTS TO ENROLL IN OUR SCHOOL. OUR EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM OFFERED FREE MONTHLY PARENT-CHILD CLASSES TO LUMEN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. LUMEN HIGH SCHOOL IS A PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL THAT IS COMMITTED TO EMPOWERING TWO GENERATIONS BY PROVIDING HIGH ACADEMIC STANDARDS, A SPECIALIZED EARLY LEARNING CENTER, AND WRAP AROUND SUPPORTS TO MEET THE LAYERED NEEDS OF TEEN PARENTS IN THE SPOKANE COUNTY. OFFERING A COURSE AT WINDSONG ALLOWED TEEN PARENTS TO FURTHER DEVELOP COMMUNITY, AND THIER PARENTING SKILLS IN A HOLISTIC WAY.THE WINDSONG COMMUNITY PARTICIPATED IN OUR KNIT-A-THON FUNDRAISER, WHICH HAS COME TO BE OUR SECOND LARGEST FUNDRAISER. THE COMMUNITY KNITTED 10 BLANKETS, WHICH WERE DONATED TO LUMEN HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS. THIS WAS SUCH A HEARTFELT EVENT, THAT THE STORY WAS FEATURED IN A LOCAL NEWS STORY AND ON SOCIAL MEDIA.OUR 6TH GRADE STUDENTS TRAVELED INTERNATIONALLY TO IRELAND FOR CURRICULUM, DEVELOPMENT, AND SOCIAL ENRICHMENT. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME OUR SCHOOL ORGANIZED AND FULFILLED INTERNATIONAL TRAVELS. ALL ASSOCIATED COSTS WERE PAID FOR BY FUNDRAISING AND DONATIONS.
