OUR MISSION IS TO ENTERTAIN AND EDUCATE ALL GENERATIONS THROUGH THE PRESERVATION, PROMOTION AND DISPLAY OF KANSAS CITY'S RICH AUTOMOTIVE HERITAGE. OUR FUTURE VISION IS TO EXPAND OUR MISSION TO INCLUDE THE ENTIRE MIDWEST.

THE KANSAS CITY AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM EMBRACES THE UNIQUE AND DIVERSE STORIES OF KANSAS CITY, WHILE EDUCATING YOUNG AND OLD, AND CELEBRATING THE CULTURE, ARTISTRY, INDUSTRY AND INNOVATION OF THE AUTOMOBILE. SINCE OPENING, THE MUSEUM HAS BECOME A RECOGNIZED AND POPULAR ESTABLISHMENT WITHIN THE CAR COMMUNITY AND HAS GROWN TO BE A MEETING PLACE FOR CAR ENTHUSIASTS, HISTORIANS AND VISITORS TO KANSAS CITY. THE MUSEUM ROTATES OVER 100 VEHICLES A YEAR, AND CONSISTENTLY SHOWCASES A COLLECTION OF NEARLY 40 CARS AT ANY GIVEN TIME. THROUGH TOURS, VISITORS LEARN MORE ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE CAR IN KANSAS CITY AND ITS IMPACT ON THE WORLD. TWICE A MONTH WE HAVE OVER 200 CARS VISIT THE MUSEUM FOR A CASUAL CAR SHOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC CALLED CARS & COFFEE.
EDUCATIONAL EVENTS ARE OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO ENGAGE AND ENTERTAIN THE PUBLIC. WORKSHOPS ARE HELD TO HELP INDIVIDUALS FINE TUNE CAR SKILLS AND ARTISTRY, AND GAIN HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES WORKING WITH VEHICLES. THE MUSEUM OFFERS MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR BOY SCOUTS. FROM CAR DERBIES TO AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE BADGE WORKSHOPS, SOMETHING IS OFFERED FOR EVERY AGE AND INTEREST LEVEL. THROUGH THE GREAT CAR SHOW AND MEADOWBROOK CAR SHOW, THE LOCAL YOUTH ARE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN YOUTH JUDGING. IN 2021, 30+ YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN OUR JUDGING PROGRAMS.
THE UNDERGROUND, A PARKING GARAGE LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY, PROVIDES A SAFE SPACE TO STORE SPECIALTY CARS WHILE SHARING THEIR HISTORY WITH THE REST OF THE CITY. THIS SUBTERRANEAN FACILITY PROVIDES AN ECLECTIC COLLECTION OF VEHICLES, WHICH VISITORS CAN VIEW AND LEARN MORE ABOUT THEM THROUGH A TOUR. THE UNDERGROUND IS THE STARTING POINT TO A AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY TOUR HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN 2021, MULTIPLE COMMUNITY EVENTS AND CAR SHOWS WERE HOSTED AT THE UNDERGROUND.
