LAPTOP PROGRAMTO SUPPORT REMOTE LEARNING DURING COVID. THE PURPOSE OF THIS GRANT PROPOSAL WAS TO PURCHASE 390 LAPTOP COMPUTERS (MACBOOK AIR 13-INCH) TO SUPPLY ALL STUDENTS AND FACULTY GRADES 6-12 WITH A LAPTOP. THIS GOAL WAS ACHIEVED BY UTILIZING AND REDEPLOYING EXISTING LAPTOP INVENTORY FROM CARTS AND PURCHASING THE 390 ADDITIONAL COMPUTERS.


ZARA AINA/BMS MADAGASCAR DAYONE MASTER TEACHING ARTIST AND SEVEN JUNIOR TEACHING ARTISTS LEAD A WORKSHOP TO TEACH STUDENTS TO USE THE PERFORMING ARTS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ISSUES.


7TH GRADE WEEK OF DISCOVERY STUDENTS WILL VISIT ESOPUS MEADOWS AND PARTICIPATE IN CLEARWATER'S TIDELINE PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM TAKES STUDENTS THROUGH A SERIES OF STATIONS FOCUSED ON THE HUDSON RIVER. EACH STATION PROVIDES A HANDS-ON OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS TO INVESTIGATE VARIOUS ECOLOGICAL PHENOMENA AND ASSESS THE IMPACT OF HUMAN INTERVENTION ON THE ENVIRONMENT. THIS PROGRAM SPANS ACROSS MULTIPLE DISCIPLINES, AS IT REQUIRES STUDENTS TO USE ETHICAL PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS, COLLABORATION AND DRAW CONCLUSIONS BASED ON EVIDENCE.
