NABI FOUNDATION IS A NATIONAL FOUNDATION COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH BY IMPLEMENTING PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE HIGHER EDUCATION, SPORTS, HEALTH AND WELLNESS AND COMMUNITY BUILDING.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
IN 2021 THE NABI FOUNDATION SERVED OVER 1300 NATIVE YOUTH REPRESENTING OVER 150 TRIBAL NATIONS. WITH NORMAL OPERATIONS RETURNING DURING 2021, THE ORGANIZATION COMPLETED MORE THAN 400 BASKETBALL GAMES AND AGAIN HOSTED ITS NABI CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES. THE ORGANIZATION HAD A GOAL TO REACH AT LEAST 10,000 PEOPLE THROUGH ITS SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS AND EXCEEDED THIS GOAL TO REACH MORE THAN 65,000 PEOPLE DURING THE YEAR. OVER ALL MEDIA OUTLETS, NABI REACHED MORE THAN 1.87 MILLION PEOPLE AND MADE GLOBAL NEWS WHEN THE NABI CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS ATTENDED GAME 5 OF THE NBA FINALS. ORGANIZED NABI COLLEGE AND CAREER FAIR AND YOUTH EDUCATION SUMMIT EVENTS WHICH WERE ATTENDED BY OVER 1300 NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTHS. THE EVENT SUMMIT WAS CONDENSED DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS BUT HAD 4 SPEAKERS AND 8 PRESENTATIONS. THE ORGANIZATION ANTICIPATES THAT THE EVENT WILL RETURN IN 2022 TO HAVE 12-18 SPEAKERS. ORGANIZED A JUNIOR NABI BASKETBALL CAMP IN PARTNERSHIP WITH JUNIOR SUNS AND JUNIOR MERCURY TEAMS. THIS CAMP WAS ATTENDED BY OVER 100 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS AT NO COST.
