NATURALLY OCCURRING AFFORDABLE HOUSING (NOAH) - THROUGH OUR NOAH PROJECT AND THE EFFICIENCY NAVIGATOR, WE ENGAGE WITH AGENCY STAKEHOLDERS, PROPERTY OWNERS AND MANAGERS, COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND RESIDENTS TO UNDERSTAND THE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE THE NOAH STOCK IN DANE COUNTY MORE SUSTAINABLE. WE ARE OFFERING THE EFFICIENCY NAVIGATOR PROGRAM TO HELP SMALL TO MEDIUM-SIZED MULTIFAMILY HOUSING BECOME MORE EFFICIENT, AFFORDABLE, AND RESILIENT WHILE REDUCING OPERATING COSTS FOR OWNERS AND ENERGY COST BURDEN FOR RESIDENTS. THE GOALS OF THE PROGRAM ARE TO ADDRESS HOUSING RESILIENCE, EQUITY, AND CLIMATE CHANGE. WE PROVIDE COMPLIMENTARY EFFICIENCY ASSESSMENTS AND STEP-BY-STEP NAVIGATION OF IMPLEMENTATION. THE PROGRAM IS FOR RENTER-OCCUPIED BUILDINGS WITH RENTS AFFORDABLE TO RESIDENTS AT OR BELOW 80% AREA MEDIAN INCOME. THE HOUSING STOCK IS KNOWN AS NATURALLY OCCURRING AFFORDABLE HOUSING (NOAH). THE PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES BI-LINGUAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY LEADERS, MULTIFAMILY SOLAR OPPORTUNITIES AND HEALTHY BUILDING ELEMENTS, ELECTRIFICATION, THE RELAY NETWORK, A DIVERSE CONTRACTOR ACCELERATOR PROGRAM.
SUSTAIN DANE SUMMIT - AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE THAT CONVENES SUSTAINABILITY ACTIVISTS WHO EMBRACE HOLISTIC SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNITY WELL-BEING, AND DESIRE TO CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE IN THE GREATER MADISON REGION. APPROXIMATELY 250 INDIVIDUALS CONVENED TO LISTEN, LEARN, AND SHARE WITH ONE ANOTHER. THE SUMMIT WAS DEEMED SUCCESSFUL BASED UPON METRICS ACHIEVED AND PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK.
SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES AND NETWORK - SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES AND NETWORK IS A LEARNING GROUP OF PROGRAMS AND PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT HOLISTIC SUSTAINABILITY (ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH, EQUITY AND SOCIAL WELLBEING, AND A JUST ECONOMY). VIA COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND THE NETWORK, SUSTAIN DANE SHARES SKILLS AND STRATEGIES, RESEARCH FINDINGS, AND LOCAL CASE STUDIES. THERE ARE QUARTERLY BREAKFAST MEETINGS, MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, MEMBERSHIP, AND ONLINE RESOURCES. OTHER WORK INCLUDES THE COMMUNITY RECYCLING PROGRAM, CLIMATE ACTION COMMITMENTS, PARTNERSHIPS WITH SCHOOLS ON FOOD WASTE REDUCTION, AND SUSTAINABILITY ART. BUSINESS OUTREACH AND PROJECTS - ACCELERATE SUSTAINABILITY WORKSHOP (ASW) IS A ONE YEAR, FULLY-CUSTOMIZABLE PROGRAM FOR BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT WISH TO REDUCE THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT, WHILE SAVING COSTS AND CREATING A HEALTHIER AND MORE ENGAGING WORKPLACE AND COMMUNITY. ASW BUILDS ON THE SUCCESS OF SUSTAIN DANE'S MPOWER PROGRAM.
