MIDWEST VISION RESEARCH FOUNDATION (DBA LIFELONG VISION FOUNDATION) SUPPORTS RESEARCH EFFORTS IN OPHTHALMOLOGY, TO EDUCATE PHYSICIANS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF OCULAR DISEASE, AND TO PROVIDE VISION SCREENING AND CORRECTIVE PROGRAMS TO SPECIFIC UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. LVF ACHIEVES ITS GOALS THROUGH PEPOSE VISION INSTITUTE (PVI) STUDIES AND CLINICAL TRIALS AND THROUGH THE GENEROUS SUPPORT OF PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS, CORPORATE CITIZENS, AND FOUNDATIONS WHO SHARE THE VISION OF LIFELONG EXCELLENCE IN EYE CARE. CURRENTLY, MIDWEST VISION RESEARCH FOUNDATION IS PARTICIPATING IN 22 STUDIES INVOLVING 110 PARTICIPANTS. THE FOUNDATION'S SUPPORT IS DERIVED PRIMARILY FROM FEES EARNED FOR PERFORMING THESE STUDIES, GRANT INCOME, AND CONTRIBUTIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS, CORPORATIONS AND FOUNDATIONS.
