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
EDUCARE IS A COUNTY WIDE INITIATIVE THAT SERVES YOUNG CHILDREN WHO PARTICIPATE IN HOME BASED OR CENTER BASED EARLY CARE AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. EDUCARE SUPPORTS CHILD CARE PROVIDERS AND LINKS THIS CHILD CARE WITH PARENTING, HEALTH CARE, AND EDUCATION. EDUCARE ALSO COLLABORATES WITH PARENTS AS TEACHERS, HEAD START, LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS, AND VARIOUS OTHER LOCAL PROVIDERS WHO HAVE SIMILAR OBJECTIVES.
ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY CARING COMMUNITIES HAS AN IN HOUSE RESOURCE CENTER THAT EARLY CHILD CARE PROVIDERS, SCHOOL TEACHERS, OR PARENTS CAN USE TO OBTAIN THE SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS THEY NEED TO EFFECTIVELY TEACH AND EDUCATE YOUNG CHILDREN. THE PARTNERSHIP CHARGES A SMALL FEE TO USE THE RESOURCE CENTER AND ANY MONEY RECEIVED IS USED TO EXPAND AND REPLENISH THE SUPPLIES FOR OTHERS. THE PARTNERSHIP ALSO CONDUCTS A BOOK FAIR AND WELLNESS FAIR AND PARTICIPATES IN THE CARING COMMUNITIES CHRISTMAS PROGRAM AND IMPROVES HEALTH CARE BY SUPPORTING A DENTAL CLINIC.
