THE HUMANE SOCIETY TAKES IN LOST OR STRAY ANIMALS AND PROVIDES FOOD, SHELTER AND MEDICAL ATTENTION, ANIMALS ARE PLACED FOR ADOPTION WHENEVER POSSIBLE. THE HUMANE SOCIETY PROVIDES SHELTER TO MANY ANIMALS FROM A 17 COUNTY AREA. BY MAXIMIZING ADOPTIONS AND TRANSFERS TO ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS WITH WAITING ADOPTERS, OUR ADOPTION RATE INCREASES EACH YEAR.
SPAY-NEUTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SNAP). THE SPAYING OF ANIMALS HELPS CONTROL THE NUMBER OF LOST OR STRAY ANIMALS. THE SNAP PROGRAM PROVIDES LOW COST SPAY/NUETER ASSISTANCE FOR ANIMALS OWNED BY PERSONS WITH LIMITED RESOURCES. MANY PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN THE SNAP PROGRAM EVERY YEAR. IN ADDITION, AN ANNUAL ONE DAY EVENT PROVIDES VOUCHERS FOR FREE SPAY/NEUTER TO ANYONE WHO PARTICIPATES, WITHOUT ANY INCOME RESTRICTIONS.
