COMBAT IS A PROGRAM FUNDED BY A JACKSON COUNTY ANTI-DRUG TAX TO REDUCE OR ELIMINATE VIOLANCE AND SUBSTENCE ABUSE AMONG OUR MOST TROUBLED YOUTH. ARTSTECH USES FINE ART STRATEGIES TO DELIVER YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMING.
TEENS IN TRANSITION IS A LIFE-SKILLS BASED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM FOR A SELECT GROUP IDENTIFIED BY HTE KC NOVA POLICE AUDIT AS ALREADY ENGAGING IN OR BEING AT HIGH RISK FOR EXPOSURE TO CRIMINAL VIOLENCE. THEY ARE DIVERSE IN AGE, GENEDER AND GANG AFFILIATION. THEY ATTEND THE PROGRAM 11 HOURS PER WEEK. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE A SAFE, STABLE AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PARTICIPANTS TO GAIN THE APPROPRIATE LIFE SKILLS AND REDUCE BARRIERS TO LEAD TO THEIR PERSONAL SUCCESS WHILE DECREASING THEIR RISK OF COMMITTING A VIOLENT ACT.
