THE MISSION OF THE MISSOURI UNITED METHODIST FOUNDATION IS TO ESTABLISH, GROW AND ADMINISTER FUNDS, TOOLS AND EDUCATION FOR PLANNED GIVING TO STRENGTHEN AND ENABLE UNITED METHODIST MINISTRY IN MISSOURI.

THE FOUNDATION ADMINISTERS A MINISTRY GRANT PROGRAM AND UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, STEWARDSHIP COUNSEL FOR LOCAL CHURCH LEADERS, AND PRINTED MATERIALS IN BULK QUANTITIES FOR LOCAL CHURCHES FREE OF CHARGE. THE FOUNDATION ASSISTS INDIVIDUAL DONORS IN MAKING GIFTS OF STOCK AND CREATING GIFT ANNUITIES AND OTHER PLANNED GIFTS. THE FOUNDATION SERVES AS AN AGENCY INVESTOR FOR LOCAL CHURCHES AND OTHER UM-RELATED CHARITABLE ENTITIES. THE FOUNDATION ADMINISTERS THE CLERGY AND CHURCH FINANCIAL MINISTRY (C2FM) WHICH PROVIDES EDUCATION, COACHING, AND DIRECT FINANCIAL AID TO PASTORS.


IN RESPONSE TO THE IDENTIFIED PRIORITIES OF THE MISSOURI ANNUAL CONFERENCE, THE FOUNDATION AUTHORIZES FUNDING TO THE CONFERENCE FOR EVANGELISM, CHURCH DEVELOPMENT, NEEDS OF RETIRED CLERGY, UM YOUTH CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS, CONGREGATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND TO IDENTIFY AND ENCOURAGE PERSONS TO BECOME ORDAINED UMC CLERGY AND FUNDS ARE USED TO PROVIDE FOOD FOR ORPHAN CHILDREN LIVING AT THE CAROLYN BELSHE ORPHANAGE IN MOZAMBIQUE. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES SIGNIFICANT FUNDING FOR THE MOAC FELLOWSHIPS, A PROGRAM PROVIDING COMPENSATION TO EARLY CAREER PASTORS SERVING A TWO-YEAR FELLOWSHIP ON STAFF AT SELECT MISSOURI UM CHURCHES.


PROVIDED FUNDS DIRECTLY TO THE DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS PROGRAM OF THE UNITED METHODIST HIGHER EDUCATION FOUNDATION (UMHEF) FOR THE BENEFIT OF UNDERGRADUATE AND SEMINARY STUDENTS WHO ATTEND CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY (FAYETTE, MISSOURI) OR SAINT PAUL SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY (OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS) AND ARE MEMBERS OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCHES IN MISSOURI. ALSO PROVIDED FUNDS DIRECTLY TO THE GENERAL BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION & MINISTRY (GBHEM) FOR THEIR EXCELLENCE IN CLERGY LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS FUNDING FULL-TIME MISSOURI MASTER OF DIVINITY SEMINARY STUDENTS WHO DEMONSTRATE FINANCIAL NEED AND HOW THE SCHOLARSHIP WILL HELP AVOID ADDITIONAL STUDENT LOANS.


PROVIDED FUNDS TO 12 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ATTENDING THEOLOGICAL SEMINARIES DURING 2021. ALL STUDENTS ARE CANDIDATES FOR ORDAINED PASTORAL MINISTRY IN THE MISSOURI ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. ALL FUNDS WERE PAID TO THE RESPECTIVE SEMINARY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE STUDENT.
