TO SERVE THE INTERESTS OF THE ELEVATOR, ESCALATOR AND ACCESSIBILITY EQUIPMENT INDUSTRY BY PROMOTING SAFE AND RELIABLE VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION THROUGH EDUCATION, NETWORKING WITH PEERS AND EXPOSURE TO NEW TECHNOLOGIES. THE VISION OF NAEC IS TO BE THE PREMIER ASSOCIATION THAT PROVIDES SAFETY, TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO ALL FACETS OF THE ELEVATOR, ESCALATOR AND ACCESSIBILITY EQUIPMENT INDUSTRY.

NAEC HOLDS AN ANNUAL CONVENTION AND EXPO EACH FALL. THIS CONVENTION AND EXPOSITION IS THE LARGEST IN NORTH AMERICA AND PROVIDES ACCESS TO MAJOR SUPPLIERS AND ABUNDANT EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. THE 2021 CONVENTION WAS HELD IN NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, OCTOBER 4-7, 2021. THE EMPHASIS OF THE MEETING IS DEFINITELY ON ELEVATOR EDUCATION. THIS PROGRAM WAS THE FOCAL POINT FOR THE NORTH AMERICAN ELEVATOR INDUSTRY IN 2021, AND THE GLOBAL ELEVATOR COMMUNITY WAS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE. THE ATTENDEES BENEFITED FROM AN EXCEPTIONAL TRADE SHOW AND THE UNSURPASSED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT WERE THE FOUNDATION OF THIS EVENT. THE ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS WERE HELD IN THE HOTEL PRIOR TO THE EXPO, PROVIDING SIMULTANEOUS CLASSES. ALSO AVAILABLE THE EDUCATIONAL PAVILIONS WERE ON THE EXPO FLOOR PROVIDING SIMULTANEOUS CLASSES. A TOTAL OF 960 INDIVIDUAL ATTENDED THIS MEETING.
IN EARLY SPRING THE NAEC ANNUAL SPRING EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD, FOCUSING ON KEY MANAGEMENT SUBJECTS. THE 2022 SPRING EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD MARCH 20-23, 2022 IN SARASOTA, FLORIDA. 277 ATTENDEES PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM. ADDITIONALLY, THE NAEC NEXGEN HELD THEIR 2022 EDUCATIONAL RETREAT IN SARASOTA. 46 ATTENDEES PARTICIPATED IN THE RETREAT. ADDITIONAL EDUCATION, E-LEARNING, AND OTHER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED BY NAEC GAVE 1,730 INDIVIDUALS ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE IN THEIR TRADE AND IN THE INDUSTRY.
RECOGNIZING THE NEED TO TUTOR A NEW GENERATION OF ELEVATOR PROFESSIONALS, NAEC CREATED ANOTHER RESOURCE FOR THE YOUNGER EMPLOYEE. TRAINING SEMINARS AND EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES ARE BEING DEVELOPED TO SUPPORT THIS EMERGING GENERATION OF THE ELEVATOR INDUSTRY THROUGH THE NEXGEN PROGRAM.THE VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (VTMP) HAS GROWN THIS YEAR, TO A TOTAL OF 75 PARTICIPANTS IN THE PROGRAM. UPON COMPLETION, THIS PROGRAM WILL CROSS-TRAIN EMPLOYEES FROM THE FIELD IN THE BUSINESS ASPECT OF THEIR COMPANY (IE: CONTRACTS, ACCOUNTING, MANAGEMENT, HR). LIKEWISE, THE COLLEGE GRAD, WITH A BUSINESS BACKGROUND, ENTERING THE INDUSTRY COULD ACCESS TECHNICAL COURSES GIVING THEM VALUABLE INSIGHT INTO THE MECHANICAL SIDE OF THE INDUSTRY.
