BALLET AND CONTEMPORARY DANCE CLASSES WITH TEACHERS WHO HAVE DANCED PROFESSIONALLY. OLDER STUDENTS PERFORM CLASSICAL MASTERWORKS AND ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY FOR UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. STUDENTS SEEKING DANCE CAREERS OR RECREATION BENEFIT FROM BALLET TAUGHT THE TRADITIONAL WAY.

Part 3 - Line 4a
LEVEL APPROPRIATE DANCE, PRIMARILY CLASSICAL BALLET, AND EXERCISE CLASSES ARE TAUGHT FOR ALL AGES FROM CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS AGE 3 TO ADULTS AND SENIOR CITIZENS. MOST LEVELS INCLUDE MULTIPLE CLASSES EACH WEEK SO THAT DANCERS MAKING FULL USE OF THE CURRICULUM ARE ENCOURAGED TO SEE DANCE AS A LIFE-LONG PURSUIT AND HAVE THE DANCE TECHNIQUE AND BALLET VOCABULARY TO CONSIDER BALLET DANCING AS A CAREER.
THE POINTE ACADEMY DANCE ENSEMBLE IS THE PERFORMING ARM OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THE MOST ADVANCED STUDENTS. IN 2021, PERFORMANCES OF BOTH THE 2020 AND 2021 REPERTORY WERE OFFERED FOR FREE TO A 50 % CAPACITY LIVE AUDIENCE WITH AN OPTION TO VIEW IT LIVE ONLINE. THE ENSEMBLE ALSO COLLABORATED WITH A CHURCH IN SIOUX CITY TO DEDICATE THEIR NEW LABYRINTH WITH A COMMISSIONED DANCE COMPONENT. THE ENSEMBLE CONSISTS OF UPPER LEVEL STUDENTS WHO HAVE COMMITTED TO SEVERAL WEEKLY TECHNIQUE CLASSES AND REHEARSALS. THESE OPPORTUNITIES TO PERFORM BOTH CLASSICAL MASTERWORKS AND ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE POINTE ACADEMY'S TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THE CAREER-MINDED DANCE STUDENT. THEIR SHOWS ARE OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
