THE IOWA WOMEN'S FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF IOWA'S WOMEN AND GIRLS. WE USE RESEARCH TO UNCOVER THE BIGGEST BARRIERS TO WOMEN'S SUCCESS AS WELL AS THEIR GREATEST NEEDS, AND WE INVEST OUR PASSION AND RESOURCES ACCORDINGLY.

IWF AWARDED $100,000 IN GRANTS TO ELEVEN ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS IOWA WORKING TO ADDRESS ONE OR MORE OF THE BARRIERS TO WOMEN'S ECONOMIC SUCCESS. AN ADDITIONAL $50,000 WAS GRANTED TO 6 ORGANIZATIONS INCREASING THE AVAILABILITY OF QUALITY AFFORDABLE CHILDCARE. OTHER SMALL GRANTS WERE MADE IN SUPPORT OF EMERGENCY NEEDS.
IWF EXPANDED THE BUILDING COMMUNITY CHILD CARE SOLUTIONS COLLABORATIVE TO FORTY-FOUR COMMUNITIES WITH OVER 750 VOLUNTEERS WORKING TOGETHER TO INCREASE ACCESS TO QUALITY AFFORDABLE CHILD. AS A MEMBER OF THE IOWA CHILD CARE COALITION FOR CHILDCARE SOLUTIONS, ADVOCATED FOR STATE LEGISLATORS TO USE FUNDING FROM STIMULUS PACKAGES TO EXPAND AND BUILD NEW CHILDCARE CENTERS AND SUPPORT THE CHILDCARE WORKFORCE WITH COMPETITIVE WAGES AND BENEFITS. IWF'S WOMEN'S ECONOMIC MOBILITY HUB SERVES AS A FRAMEWORK FOR OTHER STATES WHO WANT TO BUILD A BETTER, MORE SUSTAINABLE CHILDCARE SECTOR THAT SUPPORTS, PARENTS, BUSINESS AND CHILDCARE PROFESSIONALS.
