HONOR FLIGHT OF THE QUAD CITIES (HFQC) HAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED OVER 50 FLIGHTS FOR WORLD WAR II, KOREAN, AND VIETNAM VETERANS TO VISIT WASHINGTON, D.C. SINCE 2008, AT NO COST TO THE VETERANS. THE PURPOSE OF HFQC IS TO GET VETERANS TO VIEW THE MEMORIALS THAT HAVE BEEN BUILT AS TRIBUTES TO THEM. MANY OF THESE VETERANS ARE QUITE OLD AND FEEBLE SO WE HAVE GUARDIANS ACCOMPANY THEM THROUGHOUT THE TRIP. GUARDIANS ARE VOLUNTEERS AND NOT PAID FOR THEIR SERVICES. HFQC USUALLY COMPLETES 4 FLIGHTS PER YEAR. WEVE HAD APPROXIMATELY 4,400 VETERANS IN TOTAL AND 2,700 GUARDIANS (VOLUNTEERS) IN TOTAL ON THE FIRST 50 FLIGHTS. WE ANTICIPATE CONTINUING TO HONOR OUR VETERANS FROM WORLD WAR II, KOREA, AND VIETNAM IN FUTURE YEARS. AS LONG AS WE ARE ABLE TO RAISE THE FUNDS NECESSARY, WE WILL CONTINUE THIS SERVICE TO OUR VETERANS.
