HOMELESS SHELTER THAT ASSISTS WOMEN IN THEIR TRANSITION THROUGH A MULTIFACETED APPROACH THAT INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, ONE-ON-ONE COUNSELING AND PROGRAMMING ON CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY, BUDGETING, HOUSING, JOB READINESS, EMPLOYMENT PLACEMENT, VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, HEALTH ISSUES AND MORE.
THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES A RESALE SHOP, KNOWN AS BEACON BOUTIQUE, WHICH SELLS DONATED CLOTHES, FURNITURE, HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND OTHER ACCESSORIES. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SHOP DIRECTLY BENEFIT THE OPERATIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION. THE SHOP HELPS FOSTER COMMUNITY AWARENESS FOR BEACON OF LIFE AND PROVIDES PRACTICAL RETAIL WORK EXPERIENCE FOR MANY PROGRAM RESIDENTS.
