THROUGH ITS ROSTER OF FULL PRODUCTIONS, OUTREACH EVENTS, AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, RIVERSIDE THEATRE SERVES THE IOWA CITY AREA WITH PROGRAMMING THAT FOSTERS APPRECIATION FOR THE DRAMATIC ARTS, EMPLOYS ARTISTS, AND STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY THROUGH OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERIOUS DISCOURSE AND REFLECTION. DURING ITS 2020/2021 SEASON, RIVERSIDE THEATRE PRESENTED SEVEN TICKETED VIRTUAL PRODUCTIONS, TWO LIVE PRODUCTIONS OF SHAKESPEARE'S PLAYS IN IOWA CITY'S LOWER CITY PARK, A NUMBER OF FREE READINGS, POST-SHOW DISCUSSIONS, SPECIAL EVENTS, AND A VIRTUAL SHAKESPEARE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM, DELIVERING PATRONS AND STUDENTS HIGH-QUALITY THEATRICAL EXPERIENCES WHILE PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL AND REGIONAL THEATRE ARTISTS TO FURTHER THEIR CRAFT.
