THEATRE CEDAR RAPIDS STRIVES TO CREATE THE MAGIC OF LIVE THEATRE THROUGH INTENSIVE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN PERFORMANCE, SPECIAL EVENTS, THEATRE EDUCATION AND SERVICES.

THEATER PRODUCTIONS: THERE WERE NO THEATRE PRODUCTIONS IN FY21 DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. THEATRE CEDAR RAPIDS PRODUCED THREE OUT-OF-DOORS PRODUCTIONS AT BRUCEMORE, INC. WHEN SOCIAL DISTANCING WAS ALLOWED. VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING LED THE WAY FOR THE THEATRE PRIOR TO THAT WITH 11 PRODUCTIONS OF VARIOUS SIZES. TOTAL COMMUNITY ATTENDANCE AND PROGRAM PARTICIPATION WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,779, COMPRISED OF 3,544 THEATRE PATRONS, 194 YOUTH & ADULT STUDENTS, AND 41 VOLUNTEER PLACEMENTS. VOLUNTEERS LOGGED A COMBINED 3,800 HOURS, SERVING AS PERFORMERS, SET BUILDERS AND TECH CREW, COSTUME AND PROPS BUILDERS, AND USHERS AND BOX OFFICE WORKERS.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: A TOTAL OF 149 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN A RANGE OF VIRTUAL AND ONSITE EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDING CLASSES AND CAMPS.
