AS A SUBORDINATE CHAPTER OF THE BETTER WORLD FUND, INC., THE IOWA UNA HEIGHTENS PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING AND CONCERN ABOUT GLOBAL ISSUES AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO THE UN SYSTEM THROUGH RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND INFORMATION SERVICES.

DONATED $5,000 TO UNA-USA'S COVID-19 SOLIDARITY RESPONSE FUND. DONATION WAS IN LIEU OF SPENDING ON SUPPORT FOR ATTENDANCE AT THE 2020 GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT, WHICH WAS CANCELED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
HOSTED 12 ADVOCACY COMMITTEES, 4 YOUNG PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEES, AND SEVERAL OTHERS TO ESTABLISH A NEW COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE USING ONLINE SERVICES. THESE COMMITTEES SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION'S ADVOCACY WORK IN SUPPORT OF HUMAN RIGHTS, CLIMATE ACTION, REFUGEES, AND WOMEAN AND GIRLS.
THE ORGANIZATION PUBLISHED 3 ISSUES OF THE ADVOCACY NEWS, A NEWSLETTER THAT EDUCATES ITS MEMBERS ABOUT GLOBAL ISSUES CONNECTED TO THEIR MISSION AND HIGHLIGHT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVOCACY.
