PUBLIC POLICY THE COMPANY WAS INFLUENTIAL FOR PUBLIC POLICY AFFECTING THEIR MEMBERS. THE POLICY IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE MET WITH STATE SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SESSION TO ADVOCATE FOR AGRICULTURE. THE COMPANY TOOK PART IN FORMING STATE-WIDE POLICY BY RAISING LOCAL ISSUES, DISTRIBUTING OPINIONNAIRES TO MEMBERS AND CRAFTING POLICY STATEMENTS REFLECTING THE VIEWS OF ITS MEMBERS. LEADERS ATTENDED WEEKEND MEETINGS DURING THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION TO COMMENT ON PRIORITY ISSUES. THE COMPANY HOSTED COUNTY SUPERVISORS AND OTHER ELECTED OFFICIALS DURING THE YEAR TO DISCUSS SCOTT COUNTY ISSUES.
