PUBLIC POLICY WRIGHT COUNTY FARM BUREAU BOARD OF DIRECTORS MET WITH THE COUNTY SUPERVISORS AND AUDITOR TO REVIEW THE PROPOSED 2022-2023 BUDGET AND TO LOBBY FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR COUNTY RURAL ROADS/BRIDGES. THE COUNTY BOARD OF DIRECTORS LOBBIED OUR STATE LEGISLATORS SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AT VIA TELECONFERENCE AND AT A TOWN HALL LEGISLATIVE FORUM ON SUCH ISSUES AS THE PROPOSED CARBON DIOXIDE PIPELINE ACROSS IOWA, EDUCATION, THE EXPENSE AND TIME INVOLVED TO TRAIN EMS PERSONNEL, RECREATIONAL TRAIL FUNDING, GRANTS FOR WRIGHT COUNTY TO IMPROVE BIKE TRAILS, LONG TERM CARE EXPENSE AND FACILITY CLOSINGS, AND IMPROVING THE SCOPE OF PRACTICE TO ALLOW VETERINARIAN TECHS TO DO MORE PROCEDURES TO ALLEVIATE THE LARGE ANIMAL VETERINARIAN SHORTAGE IN THE STATE. THE WRIGHT COUNTY FARM BUREAU INVITED 983 MEMBERS TO ATTEND THE WRIGHT COUNTY ANNUAL MEETING IN AUGUST WITH A MEAL SERVED AT THE HEARTLAND MUSEUM IN CLARION. THE MEMBERS WERE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO ELECT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND REVIEW THE 2021 AUDITED FINANCIAL REPORTS.
