PUBLIC POLICY WRIGHT COUNTY FARM BUREAU BOARD OF DIRECTORS MET WITH THE WRIGHT COUNTY SUPERVISORS AND AUDITOR TO REVIEW THE PROPOSED 2020-2021 BUDGET AND TO LOBBY FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR COUNTY RURAL ROADS/BRIDGES. THE COUNTY BOARD OF DIRECTORS ALSO LOBBIED OUR STATE LEGISLATORS SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AT LOCAL TOWN HALL MEETINGS AND AT THE STATE CAPITOL ON SUCH ISSUES AS ALLOWING STUDENTS AT AGE 14.5 WITH DRIVERS PERMITS TO DRIVE A PASSENGER VEHICLE FOR FARM WORK, THAT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES SHOULD BE ENTIRELY FUNDED BY THE STATE OF IOWA AND CONTINUED SUPPORT OF FUNDING FOR SOIL/WATER CONSERVATION PRACTICES THROUGH THE IOWA NUTRIENT REDUCTION STRATEGY PROGRAM.
