TO REPRESENT AND UNIFY SO ST PAUL TEACHERS ASSOCIATION LOCAL 861 MEMBERS. WE WORK TO SUPPORT EDUCATION MINNESOTA, AMERICAN FEDERATION OF TEACHERS, AFL-CIO AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS.

WE FACILITATE 275 LOCAL MEMBERS AND WORK WITH STATE UNION MEMBERS. WE PROVIDE LOCAL SUPPORT, TEACHER MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS, LEGAL QUESTION AND REPRESENTATION, CONTRACTUAL NEGOTIATIONS, AND ALL DAY-TO-DAY BUSINESS ACTIVITIES FOR OUR MEMBERS.
WE WORK WITH IN-REACH AND OUT-REACH PROGRAMS. IN-REACH CREATES CLOSER UNION TIES WITH ALL 275 MEMBERS. OUT-REACH INCLUDES WORK IN THE COMMUNITY OF SOUTH SAINT PAUL. WE DO FOOD DRIVES FOR NEIGHBORS, INC. WE WORK WITH FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN. WE PRESENT THREE (3) COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS TO CURRENT SENIORS AT SOUTH SAINT PAUL HIGH SCHOOL.
WE WORK WITH ALL SCHOOL AND STATE REQUIRED PROGRAMS. WE HELP FACILITATE THE ALTERNATIVE TEACHERS PERFORMANCE PAY SYSTEM (ATPPS). WE SERVE ON THE CALENDAR COMMITTEE, THE STAFF DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE, AND THE TEACHER DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION (TDE) PROGRAM.
