EDUCATION PROGRAMMING: LEGACY PROGRAMS INCLUDE KINDER KONZERTS AND THE YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION. ANOTHER PROGRAM IS ACCENT/MEET A MUSICIAN. KINDER KONZERTS HAS SEVERAL COMPONENTS - KINDER KONZERTS IN A BOX/IN A BAG IS A NEW PROGRAM AND RESPONSE TO COVID AND THE ORGANIZATIONS INABILITY TO HOLD IN PERSON CONCERTS FOR PRE-SCHOOLS AT ORCHESTRA HALL. THESE NEW ADDITIONS TO THE CLASSIC PROGRAM INCLUDE 16 VIDEOS AVAILABLE ON THE FRIENDS WEBSITE IN ADDITION TO A CURATED BOX WITH ACTIVITIES, MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES, SCHOOLS AND LIBRARIES. ANOTHER RESPONSE TO COVID IS A KINDER KONZERT PROGRAM - KINDER KONZERTS OUT AND ABOUT. THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES A TEACHING ARTIST GOING INTO A PRESCHOOL OR EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSROOM AND DOING A "MINI" KINDER KONZERT. THE YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION IS AN EVERY OTHER YEAR PROGRAM AND WAS NOT DONE IN 2021. FRIENDS HELD ONE ACCENT IN 2021, AGAIN BECAUSE OF COVID RESRTICTIONS.
VOLUNTEER SERVICES INCLUDE PROGRAMMING TO KEEP VOLUNTEERS ENGAGED, SOFTWARE TO TRACK VOLUNTEERS, DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING MATERIALS AND HOSTING TRAINING GATHERINGS. INCLUDED IN THIS CATEGORY IS THE DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT PROVIDED TO THE MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA.
MEMBERSHIP INVOLVES KEEPING MEMBERS INFORMED AND ENGAGED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH REGULAR COMMUNICATION AND ACTIVITIES.
