OUR MISSION AT PARK VALLEY UNITED FC IS TO PROVIDE ALL PLAYERS IN ST. LOUIS PARK, GOLDEN VALLEY AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES THE OPPORTUNITY TO REACH THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL AS A PERSON AND PLAYER THOUGH A POSITIVE SOCCER EXPERIENCE. TRAINING CHILDREN, AGES 6 TO 19, IN THE ATHLETIC SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SOCCER.

RECREATIONAL SOCCER PROGRAM (IN-HOUSE PROGRAM) FOR AGES 5 THRU 10: VOLUNTEERS DONATE TIME TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND PLAY TO 260+ CHILDREN DURING THE SUMMER AND 170+ CHILDREN IN THE FALL. TEAM CLINICS ARE INCLUDED WITH HIRED SOCCER PROFESSIONALS TO TEACH THE SKILLS FOR THE GAME TO THE CHILDREN AND ASSIST THE VOLUNTEER COACHES WITH PRACTICES. THESE CLINICS ARE IN ADDITION TO THE PRACTICES HELD BY THE COACHES. TRAVELING SOCCER PROGRAM FOR AGES 9 THRU 17: VOLUNTEERS DONATE TIME TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND PLAY TO 410+ CHILDREN DURING THE SUMMER AND 200+ CHILDREN IN THE FALL. TEAM CLINICS ARE INCLUDED WITH HIRED SOCCER PROFESSIONALS TO TEACH THE SKILLS FOR THE GAME TO THE CHILDREN. THESE CLINICS ARE IN ADDITION TO THE PRACTICES HELD BY THE COACHES. COACH CLINICS ARE PROVIDED TO PARENTS WHO VOLUNTEER TO COACH TO TRAIN THE VOLUNTEERS ABOUT THE GAME OF SOCCER AND PRACTICE TECHNIQUES. A COACHING DIRECTOR IS AVAILABLE FOR ANY QUESTIONS THE VOLUNTEER COACHES HAVE THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. THE COACHING DIRECTOR VOLUNTEERS HIS TIME TO HELP SPANISH-SPEAKING PLAYERS TO GET INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM. THERE ARE LATINO FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY THAT ARE NOT BI-LINGUAL. THE COACHING DIRECTOR GOES TO THE CHILDREN'S HOMES AND HELPS THE FAMILIES BY TRANSLATING THE FORMS AND TELLING THEM ABOUT THE PROGRAM IN THEIR NATIVE TONGUE. THIS PLAYS A PART IN BRINGING THESE FAMILIES INTO OUR COMMUNITY. A FOOD DRIVE IS DONE EVERY SPRING TO HELP STOCK THE SHELVES OF STEP (ST. LOUIS PARK EMERGENCY PROGRAM). THROUGH THE DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS PROGRAM THE SLPSA PROVIDES FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS TO ST. LOUIS PARK HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. SLPSA MAINTAINS THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK'S CHILDREN FIRST INITIATIVE BY PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO CHILDREN IN NEED. NO CHILD IS TURNED AWAY FROM PLAYING ON A TEAM FOR LACK OF A REGISTRATION FEE. SLPSA PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO PLAYERS IN WAIVED SOCCER FEES.
