TO CONSERVE, MAINTAIN, PROTECT AND RESTORE THE SOIL, FOREST, WATER, AND OTHER NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE UNITED STATES AND OTHER LANDS: TO PROMOTE MEANS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC WITH RESPECT TO SUCH RESOURCES AND THEIR ENJOYMENT AND WHOLESOME UTILIZATION.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
THE IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE OF AMERICA HAS MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS TO PROTECT AND RESTORE OUR NATION'S WATERS, PROMOTE CLEAN ENERGY, AND ADVANCE SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE. WE RAISE FUNDS TO DONATE TO MANY LOCAL GROUPS AND FOR PROJECTS THAT BENEFIT OTHERS, SUCH AS PROVIDING HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE DEER STANDS FOR THE DISABLED TO USE FREE OF CHARGE AND TO PURCHASE LAND TO BE USED FOR WILDLIFE HABITAT THAT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR SEASONAL HUNTING AND BIRDWATCHING. FINANCIALLY SUPPORT STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS PURSUING A COLLEGE DEGREE IN CONSERVATION OR NATURAL RESOURCES. FINACIALLY SUPPORT HIGH SCHOOL TRAP SHOOTING TEAMS AND PROVIDE VOLUNTEER COACHES OVER- 140 STUDENTS SERVED. SUPPORT OF PRAIRIE RESTORATION AND PROVIDE CLUB'S LAND FOR USE BY GENERAL PUBLIC. FINANCIALLY SUPPORT AND PROVIDE VOLUNTEER CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS TO TEACH FIRE ARMS SAFETY- 75 STUDENTS SERVED PER YEAR. SEVERAL OF THE ABOVE PROJECTS ARE FUNDED BY MN LAWFUL GAMBLING PROCEEDS. $51,450 IN MN LAWFUL GAMBLING PROGRAM EXPENDITURES IN 2021.
