THE ST. LOUIS COUNTY VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD, INC. WAS CREATED TO ASSIST AND BE GUIDED BY THE ST. LOUIS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AS AN EMERGENCY RESCUE UNIT. ALSO, THE RESCUE SQUAD IS TO ASSIST IN THE PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTS, FIRES AND MALICIOUS PROPERTY DAMAGE THROUGH EDUCATING THE PUBLIC.

ASSISTANCE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN EMERGENCY SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS, ASSIST THE ST. LOUIS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT BOTH DAY AND NIGHT AT ACCIDENT SCENES, AS WELL AS FIRE, ACCIDENT AND MALICIOUS PROPERTY DAMAGE PREVENTION THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION. THE RESCUE SQUAD MEMBERS DONATED A TOTAL OF 34,890 HOURS IN 2021. DURING 2021, THE SQUAD RESPONDED TO 135 WILDERNESS OPERATIONS, 101 WATER OPERATIONS, 132 VEHICLE ACCIDENTS, 53 MEDICAL CALLS, AND 55 OTHER MISCELLANEOUS CALLS.
