THE PURPOSE OF THE BFLMI IS TO SUPPORT THE BIBLE FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH OF INDIA, A LONG STANDING, NON-PROFIT CHURCH ORGANIZATION HEADQUARTERED IN GUNTUR, INDIA. THE BFLC HAS APPROXIMATELY 40 CHURCH CONGREGATIONS, A SEMINARY AND PASTORAL TRAINING PROGRAM, A CHILDREN'S HOME AND A SCHOOL. THE BFLMI PROVIDES NEARLY ALL OF THE FUNDS FOR THE 40 CONGREGATIONS, INCLUDING THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND HOUSING OF 40 PASTORS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE BFLMI FULLY FUNDS THE SEMINARY AND PASTORAL TRAINING PROGRAM, WHICH HAS ABOUT 20 STUDENTS. THE BFLMI ALSO FULLY FUNDS THE MORIAH CHILDREN'S HOME WHICH PROVIDES HOUSING, EDUCATION, FOOD AND SUPPORT FOR APPROXIMATELY 60 CHILDREN FROM DESTITUTE FAMILIES. THE BFLMI LARGELY SUBSIDIZES THE MORIAH SCHOOL WHICH HAS ABOUT 400 STUDENTS RANGING FROM PRE-KINDERGARTEN TO 10TH GRADE (THE FINAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADE IN INDIA). STUDENTS PAY TUITION ON A NEED-BASED, SLIDING FEE SCALE BASIS. THE BFLMI IS ALSO ASSISTING IN ORGANIZING AND FUNDING A TRANSLATION PROJECT BY WHICH THE LUTHERAN STUDY BIBLE NOTES WILL BE TRANSLATED INTO MAJOR LANGUAGE IN INDIA.
