MISSION IMPACT, INC. IS AN EVANGELICAL MISSION AGENCY WORKING IN RURAL COMMUNITIES AND VILLAGES IN GUATEMALA, CENTRAL AMERICA, SHARING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.

MISSION IMPACT PROVIDED GRANT FUNDING DURING 2021 THAT SUPPORTED THE FOLLOWING CAUSES: THE VIDA & ESPERANZA (SCHOOL OF LIFE AND HOPE) PROVIDES HOLISTIC EDUCATION WITH A STRONG EMPHASIS ON THE BIBLE AND SHARING THE GOSPEL THROUGH WORDS AND ACTIONS WITH THE STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN SANTA LUCIA MILPAS ALTAS. THE SCHOOL CURRENTLY HAS 20 TEACHERS AND FULL-TIME STAFF AND AN ENROLLMENT OF 335 STUDENTS IN GRADES KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 9TH GRADE. SEVENTY-FIVE OF THE 335 CHILDREN ARE SPONSORED THROUGH THE SOWING HOPE CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM. OUR GOAL IN THE COMING YEARS IS TO GROW THE ENROLLMENT TO 375 STUDENTS. PROXIMOS PASOS (NEXT STEPS GIRLS SCHOOL) OFFERS A CHRIST-CENTER EDEDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE TO GIRLS WHO ARE DENIED THAT OPPORTUNITY BY THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN SANTA MARIA DE JESUS. THE SCHOOL OFFERS CHRISTIAN EDUCATION TO 250 GIRLS FROM 1ST TO 8TH GRADE. CLASSES INCLUDE SEWING, COOKING, ENGLISH, AND BIBLE. OUR HOLISTIC APPROACH TO EDUCATION IS BIBLICALLY BASED AND COVERS THE AREAS OF ACADEMICS, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL HEALTH, FAMILY INVOLVEMENT, AND OCCUPATIONAL TRAINING. FUTURE PLANS INCLUDE THE PRODUCTION OF SOY MILK AT THE SCHOOL TO FORTIFY THE STUDENTS' DAILY NUTRITION AND PROVIDE MILK FOR STUDENTS TO TAKE HOME TO THEIR FAMILIES. A FEW VOLUNTEER SHORT-TERM MISSIONS SERVANT TEAMS FROM NORTH AMERICA HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN VARIOUS MINISTRY PROJECTS THIS YEAR, LOWER THAN NORMAL DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. IN 2021, THE FIRST FLOOR OF NEW HOPE NURSING SCHOOL WAS COMPLETED WITH PLANS TO HAVE THE FIRST CLASS OF NURSES START IN 2022. BEELINE WHEELCHAIRS WAS ABLE TO SEND WHEELCHAIRS TO FIVE DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AS WELL AS TO PROVIDE WHEELCHAIRS TO FAMILIES IN GUATEMALA.
