MALAWI - THE WATER & SANITATION PROGRAM IN MALAWI GREW RAPIDLY THIS YEAR, SERVING OVER 12,275 PEOPLE BY PROVIDING THEM WITH CLEAN WATER SOLUTIONS, HEALTH EDUCATION, OR FLOOD RELIEF, AND CHOLERA PREVENTION DEPENDING ON EACH COMMUNITY'S NEEDS. THE DISABILITY PROGRAM SERVED OVER 3,698 PEOPLE THROUGH A WIDE VARIETY OF SERVICES INCLUDING HOME-BASED PHYSICAL THERAPY, MODIFIED WORSHIP SERVICES SPECIFICALLY FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES, HOSPITAL TRANSPORT, VOCATIONAL TRAINING, AND MORE. THE DISABILITY PROGRAM MOBILIZED OVER 580 LOCAL VOLUNTEERS WHO HELPED THOSE WITH DISABILITIES IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES. SHARING JESUS IS A KEY PART OF THE VOLUNTEER'S SERVICE.
JAPAN - THROUGH OUR JAPAN ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) PROGRAM, WE SERVED NEARLY 100 PEOPLE BY PROVIDING THEM WITH ESL CLASSES. THROUGH OUR DISABILITY PROGRAM, WE SERVED CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES BY PROVIDING SUPPORT GROUP OPTIONS FOR PARENTS AND HOSTING SOCIAL EVENTS FOR THEIR CHILDREN.- NIGERIA - A HOME-BASED HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAM IN NIGERIA HAS OVER 130 LOCAL CONGREGATIONAL WOMEN WHO VISIT THEIR NEIGHBORS TO OFFER PREVENTATIVE HEALTH EDUCATION, SPIRITUAL SUPPORT, AND SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR ILLNESSES. THESE VOLUNTEERS SERVED OVER 7,100 PEOPLE IN 2023.- SOUTH SUDAN - 60 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED WATER AND SANITATION HEALTH EDUCATION, FLOOD RELIEF, AND COMMUNITY BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES TO S SUDANESE REFUGEES. THEY SERVED OVER 2,800 PEOPLE IN 2023.-GRENADA - OUR COGNITIVE DELAY & ASSESSMENT PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES SERVES THOSE WITH DISABILITIES, ALONG WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND CAREGIVERS. THEY ARE SERVED THROUGH SUPPORT GROUPS, SENSORY CAMPS, SCHOOL VISITS, GOSPEL PROCLAMATION, AND MORE. NEARLY 300 PEOPLE WERE SERVED BY ALMOST 100 LOCAL VOLUNTEERS IN 2023.
NORTH AMERICA - WE MOBILIZIED NEARLY 400 VOLUNTEERS IN THE U.S. TO SERVE OVER 1,600 PEOPLE IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES. VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED SPIRITUAL SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO THOSE THEY SERVED. SUPPORT AND CARE FOR FOSTER FAMILIES WAS PROVIDED THROUGH 195 VOLUNTEERS WHO SERVED OVER 400 PEOPLE. WE MOBILIZED 110 PEOPLE TO BECOME ADVOCATES OR SUPPORT GROUP LEADERS FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE. THROUGH OUR CONTRUSTION-FOCUSED PROGRAMS, WE PROVIDED MENTORS TO YOUTH AND INTRODUCED THEM TO THE CONSTRUCTION TRADE. VOLUNTEERS ASSISTED IN BUILDING CHURCHES AND SCHOOLS THAT SERVE 706 PEOPLE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. ON AN APACHE RESERVATION IN ARIZONA, VOLUNTEERS TAUGHT HOME DO-IT-YOURSELF AND GARDENING SKILLS TO THEIR NEIGHBORS, SERVING OVER 160 PEOPLE THIS YEAR.
SE ASIA - IN SE ASIA, WE SERVE PEOPLE THROUGH A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS INCLUDING AGRICULTURE EDUCATION, CHILD & CLASSROOM DEVELOPMENT, HEALTH EDUCATION, AND WATER & SANITATION WORK. THESE PROGRAMS COMBINED SERVED NEARLY 4,200 PEOPLE AS WE EXPANDED INTO NEW VILLAGES THIS YEAR. THROUGH THIS WORK, NEW CLEAN WATER SOLUTIONS AND TOILETS WERE BUILT, PEOPLE WERE TAUGHT HOW TO CREATE AND CARE FOR GARDENS THAT YIELD HEALTH FOOD, PEOPLE WERE TAUGHT HOW TO READ, AND SO MUCH MORE. GOSPEL PROCLAMATION IS A KEY PART OF EVERYTHING WE DO.
