SKYLARK OPERA THEATRE WILL PROVIDE MINNESOTA AUDIENCES WITH THE HIGHEST ARTISTIC QUALITY ACCESSIBLE PERFORMANCES OF OPERA AND MUSIC THEATER AND WILL DEVELOP AND HIGHLIGHT THE FINEST LOCAL AND REGIONAL TALENT.THE ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR A WIDE-RANGING REPERTOIRE OF OPERA AND MUSICAL THEATER, WHILE EMPHASIZING STRONGLY BALANCED MUSICAL AND THEATRICAL VALUES. THE REPERTOIRE HAS INCLUDED A UNIQUE MIX OF FAMILIAR FAVORITES AND NEW WORK, INCLUDING MANY PRODUCTIONS THAT ARE NEW TO THE TWIN CITIES' STAGE.

SKYLARK OPERA THEATRE OFFERS NEW AND TRADITIONAL REPERTOIRE PERFORMED WITH A MODERNIZED PERSPECTIVE IN SITE-SPECIFIC AND CUTTING-EDGE VENUES. ORIGINALLY FOUNDED IN 1980, THE ORGANIZATION ADOPTED THE NAME SKYLARK OPERA IN 2006, AND TRANSFORMED TO SKYLARK OPERA THEATRE IN 2016. WITH A REIMAGINED FOCUS ON INNOVATIVE, INTIMATE AND ACCESSIBLE OPERA, SKYLARK OPERA THEATRE STAGED CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED PRODUCTIONS OF "THE TRAGEDY OF CARMEN AND "DON GIOVANNI" IN 2017, "AS ONE" IN 2018 AND "COSI FAN TUTTE AND "THE MOST HAPPY FELLA" IN 2019, "AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS"" IN 2021 AND "EUGENE ONEGIN" IN 2022.SKYLARK OPERA THEATRE IS BASED IN ST. PAUL AND PRODUCES WORK IN BOTH ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA.SKYLARK PROVIDES A SERIES OF MINI-CONCERTS AT SENIOR RESIDENCES THROUGHOUT THE TWIN CITIES THROUGHOUT FALL AND WINTER. "SKYLARK FOR SENIORS" PREMIERED IN THE FALL OF 2020 AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO RELIEVE SOME OF THE ISOLATION FELT BY SENIORS IMPACTED BY THE RESTRICTIONS PLACED ON THEM (AND ALL OF US) DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. IT WAS TRULY HEARTWARMING TO SEE AND FEEL THE JOY AND APPRECIATION OUR AUDIENCES HAD FOR THE MUSIC AND THE PERFORMERS.
