MRWA PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL ON-SITE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING TO WATER AND WASTE WATER SYSTEM PERSONNEL IN MANAGERIAL, FINANCIAL, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE, SOURCE WATER AND WELLHEAD PROTECTION ISSUES.

TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE - MRWA STAFF HAS EXPERIENCED OPERATORS/TECHNICIANS/TEACHERS THAT TRAVEL THE ENTIRE STATE TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE ON-SITE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND CLASSROOM TRAINING TO SMALL MUNICIPAL, NON-MUNICIPAL AND NON-COMMUNITY NON-TRANSIET WATER AND WASTEWATER SYSTEMS. MRWA STAFF PROVIDED 3,872 ON-SITE VISITS, HELD 16 TRAINING SESSIONS WITH A TOTAL ATTENDANCE OF 4,734 WATER, WASTEWATER OPERATORS, ADMINISTRATORS AND GOVERNING OFFICIALS.
SOURCE WATER PROTECTION - MRWA'S SOURCE WATER PROTECTION PROGRAMS SPECIALISTS HELP WITH THE CREATION OF A LOCAL TEAM AND WORK THE STEP PROGRAM, WHICH HAS BEEN DESIGNATED TO SIMPLIFY THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL WATER PROGRAMS. MRWA STAFF ARE AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION AND TRAINING OF COUNCILS, BOARDS, UTILITY COMMISSIONS, OTHER COMMUNITY LEADERS AND SOURCE WATER PROTECTION TEAM MEMBERS. MRWA PROVIDED 693 ON-SITE VISITS TO WATER UTILITIES, SPENT 780.25 HOURS WORKING WITH STATE AGENCIES AND CITIES AND OVER 1,481 HOURS HELPING UTILITIES DEVELOP SOURCE WATER PROTECTION PLANS.
