EMENTORS PREPARE STUDENTS WITH THE SKILLS NEEDED FOR A CAREER IN THE PROFESSIONAL WORLD. THE PROGRAM EMPOWERS STUDENTS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NEEDED FOR SUCCESS IN SCHOOL, CAREER, AND LIFE THROUGH WEEKLY ONE-ON-ONE EMAIL EXCHANGES WITH VOLUNTEER BUSINESS MENTORS, WITH EMPHASIS ON MOTIVATION, WORKPLACE SKILLS, AND CAREER EXPLORATION. DURING THE 20212022 SCHOOL YEAR, 4,274 STUDENTS AND 116 TEACHERS FROM 67 SCHOOLS PARTICIPATED. MORE THAN 3,536 VOLUNTEERS SUPPORTED THIS PROGRAM WITH THE HELP OF 62 COMPANIES SUPPORTING 130 CONNECTIONS FOR A TOTAL OF 45,891 VOLUNTEER HOURS IN 4,727 ENGAGEMENTS.
MINNESOTA BUSINESS VENTURE IGNITES STUDENTS' PASSION TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS AND DEVELOP CAREER ASPIRATIONS IN A WEEK-LONG BUSINESS AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT CAMP ON A COLLEGE CAMPUS. THE PROGRAM BRINGS TOGETHER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM ACROSS THE STATE TO WORK WITH BUSINESS LEADERS AND LEARN ABOUT CAREER PATHS AND FINANCIAL LITERACY. IN 2022, 230 STUDENTS FROM 67 SCHOOLS ATTENDED, INCLUDING 48% FROM LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS AND 76% STUDENTS OF COLOR. THESE STUDENTS WERE IMPACTED BY 170 VOLUNTEERS WITH 2,173 VOLUNTEER HOURS OVER 199 ENGAGEMENTS.
CLOUD COACH IS AN EIGHT-WEEK ONE-ON-ONE ONLINE MENTORING PROGRAM BETWEEN STUDENTS FROM AN ENTIRE 9TH GRADE CLASS AND MENTORS FROM THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY. THE PROGRAM IS AIMED TO STRENGTHEN STUDENT MOTIVATION TO SUCCEED IN SCHOOL AND BEYOND, ENCOURAGING STUDENTS TO CONSIDER FUTURE ASPIRATIONS AND IDENTIFY STEPS TO TAKE NOW TO ACHIEVE GOALS. DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, 2,065 STUDENTS AND 41 EDUCATORS AND ADMINISTRATORS FROM A COMBINATION OF SEVEN MINNEAPOLIS AND ST. PAUL PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS PARTICIPATED. MORE THAN 1,955 VOLUNTEER MENTORS SUPPORTED THIS PROGRAM. THISINCLUDED 2,171 ENGAGEMENTS WITH A TOTAL OF 25,626 VOLUNTEER HOURS.
