DURING 2022, SIGNIFICANT FOCUS WAS ADDRESSING THE FOCUS AREAS OF FOOD INSECURITY AND ASSESSING COMMUNITY NEEDS FOLLOWING THE INITIAL WAVE OF THE PANDEMIC. UNITED WAY INVESTED IN PROGRAMS PROVIDING HUMAN SERVICES. PROGRAMS RANGE FROM SUPPORTING PROGRAMS WITH EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES, SENIOR CARE, AND EMERGENCY SERVICES SUCH AS FOOD ACCESS AND SHELTER. UNITED WAY ALSO SUPPORTS INTERNAL PROGRAMMING SUCH AS THE DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY WHICH PROVIDES AGE-APPROPRIATE BOOKS FOR CHILDREN BIRTH TO AGE FIVE; AND THE WINTER GEAR DRIVE, PROVIDING WEATHER APPROPRIATE CLOTHING FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS. UNITED WAY OF FREEBORN COUNTY'S PRIMARY FOCUS IS ON THE AREAS OF HEALTH, FINANCIAL LITERACY, AND EDUCATION, THUS LOOKING AT IMMEDIATE AND LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY OF NON-PROFITS IN OUR AREA.
