TWIN CITIES MEDICAL SOCIETY SERVES AS THE LOCAL/GRASSROOTS VOICE OF PHYSICIANS ON HEALTH CARE LEGISLATION, PUBLIC POLICY INITIATIVES, PUBLIC HEALTH INITIATIVES AND SCOPE OF PRACTICE ISSUES.
METRODOCTORS IS THE MEMBERSHIP JOURNAL OF THE TWIN CITIES MEDICAL SOCIETY. IT IS DESIGNED TO FEATURE ARTICLES OF INTEREST TO PHYSICIANS REGARDING THE ECONOMICS OF MEDICINE, ADVANCEMENTS IN TECHNOLOGY, EDUCATION AND HEALTHCARE LEGISLATION. THE GOALS, OBJECTIVES AND SERVICES OF THE ORGANIZATION ARE ALSO PROMOTED.
THE PHYSICIAN ADVOCACY NETWORK(PAN) IS COMMITTED TO EDUCATING PHYSICIANS AND MEDICAL STUDENTS ABOUT E-CIGARETTES AND OTHER TOBACCO PRODUCTS, ENGAGING THEM IN TOBACCO POLICY DECISIONS, AND EMPOWERING THEM TO BECOME LEADERS IN REDUCING TOBACCO USE IN MINNESOTA. THE GOAL OF PAN IS TO DEVELOP A STATEWIDE NETWORK OF PHYSICIANS AND MEDICAL STUDENTS TRAINED TO ADVOCATE FOR PATIENTS IN THE EXAM ROOM AND IN FRONT OF ELECTED OFFICIALS AT THE CITY, COUNTY, AND STATE LEVEL TO AFFECT CHANGE BEYOND THE CONSTRAINTS OF HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS. AS PART OF THIS WORK, THE PAN ALSO WORKS TO EDUCATE AND ENGAGE HEALTH SCIENCES STUDENTS OF ALL DISCIPLINES IN TOBACCO PREVENTION.
