TO ASSIST THE AGRICULTURE EDUCATION TEACHER IN MAKING HIM/HER A GREATER ASSET TO THE COMMUNITY. 4. PROMOTE COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH SUPERVISORY STAFFS AND TEACHER TRAINING DEPARTMENTS IN POLICY INFORMATION. 5. PROMOTE A CONSTRUCTIVE PROGRAM OF AGRICULTURE EDUCATION IN THE STATE OF WISCONSIN. 6. COOPERATE WITH STATE AND NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS, WHICH HAVE AN INTEREST IN AGRICULTURE EDUCATION. 7. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE FOR WISCONSIN AGRICULTURAL EDUCATORS - ANNUAL 4-DAY EVENT FOR 300 SECONDARY AND POST-SECONDARY AGRICULTURE TEACHERS. INCLUDES 1)WORKSHOPS TO PROMOTE CONTENT MASTERY, 2) SPEAKERS TO MOTIVATE AND INSPIRE AND 3) NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. THERE IS A SPECIAL NEW-TEACHER PROGRAM WHERE ABOUT 20 INDIVIDUALS NEWLY ENTERING THE CLASSROOM GET A SAMPLING OF STATE LEVEL PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES. THE ANNUAL BANQUET CELEBRATES THE TOP ACHIEVERS IN THE STATE, BUILDS RAPPORT FOR THE PROFESSION AND CREATES A SENSE OF UNITY AMONG THE AGRIVULTURE TEACHERS.
INSTRUCTIONAL KITS - EACH YEAR, THE KIT FOCUSES ON A DIFFERENT CONTENT AREA WITHIN THE AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND NATURAL RESOURCES CURRICULUM. THEY INCLUDE TEACHING ITEMS RELATED TO THAT CONTECT AREA, ALONG WITH LESSON PLANS OF HOW TO USE THE ITEMS. AGRICULTURE TEACHERS CAN CHOOSE TO PURCHASE THE KIT FOR $100, AND THE VALUE OF IT IS AROUND $300. THE CONTENTS ADDITIONAL VALUE IS SUPPORTED BY GRANTS, SPONSORTS, AND SUPPLEID CURRICULUM RESOURCES. ABOUT 120 KITS ARE SOLD EACH YEAR, AND 20 ARE GIVEN FREE-OF-CHARGE TO NEW TEACHERS IN THE STATE.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT EVENTS (CDES) - WAAE MANAGES THE CAREER DEELOPMENT EVENTS FOR THE WISCONSIN ASSOCIATION OF FFA. THIS INCLUDES FACILITATING ALL THE CONTEST ARRANGEMENTS, WHICH HAPPEN AT THREE REGINAL EVENTS AND THEN ONE STATE COMPETITION DAY. SUCH COORDINATION REQUIRES COMMUNICATING WITH ALL THE AGRICULTURE TEACHERS IN THE STATE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTRAITON, PARTICIPATION FEES, EVENT INSTRUCTIONS, AND RESULTS. IT ALSO INCLUDES RESERVING ALL CONTEST SPACE, WORKING WITH EVENT SUPERVISORS, PAYING ASSOCIATED BILLS, COORDINATING STUDENT BUSSING, AND TABULATING RESULTS.
