ANNUAL MEETING - 1) TO PROVIDE A VALUABLE SOURCE OF CURRENT CUTTING EDGE MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE TO PROFESSIONALS ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN TREATING ATHLETIC PATIENTS; 2) TO PROVIDE AN ACADEMIC FORUM FOR PHYSICIANS TO DISCUSS CURRENT AND CONTROVERSIAL ISSUES IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS MEDICINE; AND 3) TO FOSTER A COLLEGIAL RELATIONSHIP AMONG DEDICATED, COMPETENT SPORTS MEDICINE PHYSICIANS WHO ARE RECOGNIZED AS EXPERTS BY THEIR PEERS AND TO PROVIDE A QUALITY EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE.
ADVANCED TEAM PHYSICIAN COURSE - THIS COURSE WAS SPONSORED BY THE ACSM, AMSSM AND AOSSM. THE COURSE OBJECTIVES ARE: 1) TO ADDRESS STATE OF THE ART AND CUTTING EDGE ISSUES AND INFORMATION CONCERNING EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT OF MEDICAL AND MUSCULOSKELETAL PROBLEMS OF THE ATHLETE; AND 2) TO ENSURE THE TEAM PHYSICIAN IS EXPOSED TO THE LATEST INFORMATION IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS MEDICINE.
MSK CONFERENCE - ENHANCE THE SKILLS IN DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUND AND ULTRASOUND GUIDED INJECTIONS OF COMMON MUSCULOSKELTAL (MSK) PROBLEMS. THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THIS PROGRAM SERVICE ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1) DEVELOP COMPETENCE IN UTILIZATION OF AN ULTRASOUND MACHINE IN MSK SCANNING; 2) ULTRASOUND EXAMS; 3) IDENTIFY ANATOMY DURING MSK ULTRASOUND; 4) UNDERSTAND AND EXPLAIN THE INDICATIONS AND BENEFITS OF MSK ULTRASOUND AND ULTRASOUND GUIDED INJECTION; AND 5) DEVELOP AN UNDERSTANDING OF AND ACQUIRE SKILLS IN BASIC ULTRASOUND GUIDED INJECTIONS.
