TO HELP INDIVIDUALS IN NEED THROUGH OUR FOOD BANK, BASIC NEEDS BANK, AND DIAPER BANK.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

DURING 2022 WE CONTINUED DOING OUTDOOR DISTRIBUTION DUE TO COVID AND CONTINUED OUR MOVING PREPARATION TO THE CAMPUS. DESPITE BEING OUTDOORS WE SERVED 41,398 PEOPLE WITH HEALTHY AND NUTRITIOUS FOOD THROUGHOUT MARATHON COUNTY! IN ADDITION TO FOOD, OUR GUESTS ALSO RECEIVED PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND CLEANING SUPPLIES, ITEMS THEY CANNOT PURCHASE WITH FOOD SHARE BENEFITS. OUR DIAPER BANK PROGRAM, THE BABIES' PLACE, FLOURISHED IN OUR FIRST OFFICIAL YEAR OF OPERATION. WE NOT ONLY PROVIDED DIAPERS AND BABY HYGIENE PRODUCTS TO FAMILIES IN NEED, BUT WE ALSO SUCCESSFULLY PROVIDED DIAPERS TO FAMILIES PARTICIPATING IN HEAD START. WITH OUR NEW CARGO VAN WE CAN MEET PEOPLE WHERE THEY'RE AT AND ELIMINATE BARRIERS TO RESOURCES. IN ADDITION TO DIAPERS, WE ALSO PROVIDED BABY FORMULA TO STRUGGLING HOUSEHOLDS DURING THE BABY FORMULA SHORTAGE CRISIS.

THE BASIC NEEDS BANK STRIVES TO MEET BASIC NEEDS. TOO MANY FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY ARE UNABLE TO MEET EVEN THE MOST MINIMUM OF NEEDS. SERIOUS ECONOMIC OBSTACLES, LACK OF FAMILY SUPPORT, EVICTIONS, CULTURAL BARRIERS, LITERACY BARRIERS, WEATHER, ABUSE, AND MANY OTHER UNFORESEEN OR UNCONTROLLABLE EVENTS LEAVE COMMUNITY FAMILIES IN DESPERATE NEED. AT THESE TIMES OF CRISIS, FAMILIES CAN BE LEFT WITH LITTLE OR NOTHING. OUR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY HELP, AND THEN TO CONNECT THESE FAMILIES IN NEED WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE HELP AND ITEMS TO GIVE.

OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED AT THE NEIGHBORS' PLACE INCLUDE THE COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER, COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND YOUTH EDUCATION.
