TO IMPROVE CANCER PATIENT OUTCOMES BY ADVANCING THE SCIENCE, DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF CANCER IMMUNOLOGY AND IMMUNOTHERAPY THROUGH OUR CORE VALUES OF INTERACTION/INTEGRATION, INNOVATION, TRANSLATION AND LEADERSHIP IN THE FIELD. SITC AIMS TO MAKE CANCER IMMUNOTHERAPY A STANDARD OF CARE AND THE WORD "CURE" A REALITY FOR CANCER PATIENTS EVERYWHERE.

THE SOCIETY FOR IMMUNOTHERAPY OF CANCER'S (SITC) 37TH ANNUAL MEETING & PRE-CONFERENCE PROGRAMS (SITC 2022) PROVIDED A MULTIDISCIPLINARY EDUCATIONAL AND INTERACTIVE ENVIRONMENT FOCUSED ON IMPROVING THE OUTCOME FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE PATIENTS WITH CANCER BY INCORPORATING STRATEGIES BASED ON BASIC AND APPLIED CANCER IMMUNOTHERAPY. THE ANNUAL MEETING CONSISTED OF CUTTING-EDGE RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS BY EXPERTS IN THE FIELD, ORAL AND POSTER ABSTRACT PRESENTATIONS AND AMPLE OPPORTUNITY FOR STRUCTURED AND INFORMAL DISCUSSIONS, INCLUDING IMPORTANT NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. IN ADDITION, THE MEETING INCLUDES UPDATES ON MAJOR NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVES COMING FROM ACADEMIA, GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY, AS WELL AS IMPORTANT SOCIETY PROJECTS.

SITC'S FORWARD FUND IS AN INITIATIVE ESTABLISHED BY SITC IN 2012 TO STIMULATE THE FUTURE OF THE SCIENCE, DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF CANCER IMMUNOLOGY AND IMMUNOTHERAPY THROUGH FINANCIALLY SUPPORTING ITS EDUCATION AND RESEARCH. SINCE INCEPTION, THE FORWARD FUND HAS AWARDED MORE THAN $5 MILLION TOWARD PROGRAMS, GRANTS AND INITIATIVES THAT SUPPORT EARLY CAREER SCIENTISTS THROUGH RESEARCH AND EDUCATION. FROM THE GENEROSITY OF OUR DONORS, HUNDREDS OF EARLY CAREER SCIENTISTS' CAREERS HAVE BEEN SHAPED BY THE FORWARD FUND. BY PROVIDING FELLOWSHIPS, YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS AND THE ONE-OF-A-KIND SITC SPARKATHON, SITC IS INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION, ADVANCING THE SCIENCE AND TACKLING THE HURDLES FACING THE FIELD.


THE ADVANCES IN CANCER IMMUNOTHERAPY (ACI) REGIONAL SERIES HOSTED FIFTEEN REGIONAL CME-, CNE- AND CPE-CERTIFIED PROGRAMS IN 2022. THE SERIES WAS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE EDUCATION TO PATIENT CARE PROVIDERS AND OTHERS WHO WISH TO LEARN THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF TUMOR IMMUNOLOGY AND IMMUNOTHERAPY, AND TO IMPROVE THEIR ABILITY TO INTEGRATE IMMUNOTHERAPY INTO STATE-OF-THE-ART CLINICAL MANAGEMENT FOR THEIR PATIENTS. THIS INTENDED AUDIENCE INCLUDED CLINICAL ONCOLOGISTS, REGISTERED NURSES, NURSE PRACTITIONERS, PHARMACISTS, EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS, ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, OTHER PATIENT CARE PROVIDERS, STUDENTS AND PATIENT ADVOCATES.
