EDUCATION - WPA PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND THE PUBLIC THROUGH COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS AND HEALTH FAIRS. WPA HOLDS AN ANNUAL FULL-DAY SYMPOSIUM AND SEVERAL ZOOM WEBINARS ON VARIOUS TOPICS.EXERCISE - WALKING POLES ENSURE BETTER BALANCE AND POSTURE, BY KEEPING THE WALKER MORE UPRIGHT. AT THE SAME TIME, TAKING LONGER STRIDES WILL STRETCH THE LIMBS AND KEEP THE BODY ROTATED, WHICH CAN HELP LOOSEN UP AND IMPROVE COORDINATION. WPA HELD 4 URBAN POLING WORKSHOPS THROUGHOUT WISCONSIN AND DISTRIBUTED URBAN WALKING POLES FREE OF CHARGE TO 60 PARTICIPANTS, THANKS TO A $6,000 GRANT FROM WISPACT.
