KINDSHIP OF POLK COUNTY WORKS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF A CHILD'S LIFE BY ESTABLISHING A RELATIONSHIP WITH A CARING MENTOR FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING STABILITY, SUPPORT, FRIENDSHIP AND COMMUNITY.

KINSHIP MANAGED A TOTAL OF 411 MATCHES, SERVING A TOTAL OF 373 YOUTH. SOME YOUTH IN PARTICIPATED IN BOTH SCHOOL-BASED AND COMMUNITY-BASED MENTORING. KINSHIP RECRUITED AND TRAINED 16 NEW COMMUNITY BASED MENTORS AND 116 NEW SCHOOL-BASED MENTORS. KINSHIP MENTORS WERE BOTH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND ADULTS WHO CONTRIBUTED A COMBINED TOTAL OF 8,838 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO MENTORING YOUTH IN POLK COUNTY, WISCONSIN. DURING 2023, KINSHIP CONTINUED TO SEE SIGNIFICANT GROWTH IN THE SCHOOL PROGRAM. DURING THIS PERIOD, KINSHIP ALSO SAW A DRAMATIC INCREASE IN COMMUNITY-BASED REFERRALS, SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASEING THE NUMBER OF YOUTH WIATING FOR A MENTOR. KINSHIP MATCHED 20 WAITING YOUTH WITH VOLUNTEERS IN COMMUNITY BASED MENTORING. 156 NEW YOUTH WERE MATCHED WITH VOLUNTEERS IN SCHOOL-BASED MENTORING.
