THE VOLUNTEER CENTER MOBILIZES VOLUNTEERS FROM AGES 9 TO 54 TO AFFECT CHANGE WITHIN OUR NONPROFIT PARTNERS AND THEIR MISSIONS. EACH YEAR, OVER 15,000 VOLUNTEERS ARE CONNECTED WITH OVER 180 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY.
THE RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP) CONNECTS VOLUNTEERS 55 AND OLDER WITH VARIOUS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE COMMUNITY. OVER 300 VOLUNTEERS CURRENTLY SERVE AT 32 VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS, AND PROGRAM STAFF ACT AS A LIAISON TO CONNECT POTENTIAL VOLUNTEERS WITH LOCAL COMMUNITY NEEDS.
THE VOLUNTEER CENTER OFFERS ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS AND EVENTS TO MATCH VOLUNTEERS TO COMMUNITY NEEDS. THROUGH OUR READING COACHES FOR KIDS PROGRAM, OVER 300 STUDENTS ARE CONNECTED WITH 80-90 VOLUNTEERS EACH YEAR TO ASSIST WITH READING COMPREHENSION AND TONE. VOLUNTEERS SERVE IN THIS CAPACITY EACH WEEK IN THE CLASSROOM IN 5 DIFFERENT LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS. THE VOLUNTEER CENTER COORDINATES LOCAL EVENTS AND WORKS WITH LOCAL COMPANIES TO DEVELOP AND BUILD OUT THEIR VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS, INCLUDING WORKING WITH RECRUITMENT, RETENTION, AND RECOGNITION STRATEGIES THAT BENEFIT EACH INDIVIDUAL COMPANY.
