THE OBJECTIVES OF WEAC REGION 6 SHALL BE TO AID TEACHERS AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS (ESP) IN OBTAINING IMPROVED WAGES, HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: TO DEVELOP AMONG THE MEMBERSHIP AND THE PUBLIC A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE ISSUES AND PROBLEMS IN THE AREA OF TEACHERS AND ESP RIGHTS; TO ADVANCE THE CIVIL, HUMAN, AND ACADEMIC RIGHTS OF THE MEMBERSHIP; TO PROVIDE FOR THE INVOLVEMENT OF ETHNIC MINORITY MEMBERS IN ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES; TO PROMOTE THE HUMAN AND CIVIL RIGHTS AND EDUCATIONAL WELFARE OF ALL STUDENTS; TO IMPROVE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS IN WEAC REGION 6 BY IMPROVING CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES; AND TO ENCOURAGE TEACHERS AND ESP TO REGISTER AND VOTE, AND TO EXERCISE THEIR FULL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CITIZENSHIP AND TO PARTICIPATE IN THE POLITICAL LIFE OF LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL COMMUNITIES.
